We are proud to recognize Sam Danzig, an 18-year-old student artist from American Heritage Schools, whose winning design now wraps the Rotary Connection bus traveling across Fort Lauderdale and Broward County. Selected through a community art competition, Sam’s design was chosen for its warmth, accessibility, and intentional departure from imagery that could feel intimidating to people experiencing homelessness. His vibrant use of color and clear inclusion of trusted service logos helped transform the bus into a moving symbol of safety, dignity, and connection.
Sam’s work and perspective were featured in coverage by major publications, including the Miami Herald and the South Florida Sun Sentinel, where he spoke about designing the bus to feel welcoming and approachable—something he understood deeply through his own volunteer experience serving people in need. Today, his artwork is no longer just a concept or contest submission; it is the design the community sees every day as the Rotary Connection bus brings people to critical services and support.
We are incredibly grateful to Sam for lending his talent, empathy, and vision to this project—and for helping ensure that the first impression of Rotary Connection is one of openness and hope.
