How to ride, where we go, and what to expect on board — including schedule, and on-board support services.

What is Rotary Connection?

Rotary Connection is a nonprofit organization that provides free transportation, relocation assistance, and supportive services to individuals and families experiencing homelessness in Central Broward County. Our mission is to remove transportation barriers so riders can access employment, healthcare, housing, education, essential services, or relocate to reunite with family and friends.

How do I get a ride?

Rotary Connection is free for riders, Monday through Friday from 8:30 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. Riders may board or exit the bus at any one of the 62 scheduled stops throughout the day.
This is not an on-demand, door-to-door service, and no advance registration is required. Riders simply meet the bus at one of the
scheduled stops.

What makes Rotary Connection different?

Rotary Connection is more than transportation. There are two trained peer navigators to provide on-board support to assist riders understand and access available services and resources. Peer navigators assist
individuals in navigating pathways toward stable housing, employment, and overall wellness, while building trust through lived experience.
In addition, relocation assistance is available for individuals
seeking to reunite with family.  It’s more than just a ride!

How is Rotary Connection funded?

Rotary Connection is funded entirely through private and nonprofit support; The Rotary Club of Fort Lauderdale, Florida Blue Foundation, Fellowship Recovery Community Organization, and Go Therefore
Ministry. At this time, no public funds are used to support this nonprofit initiative.

Who does Rotary Connection serve?

Rotary Connection serves individuals experiencing homelessness who are seeking to transition into housing or residential treatment, or who need free, reliable transportation to essential services, as they
work toward stability.

What types of transportation services do you provide?

Rotary Connection operates a 14-passenger minibus that provides no-cost, reliable transportation to individuals accessing essential social services. Riders are transported to partner agencies and community resources, including housing and employment services, healthcare providers, community kitchens, and critical appointments such as the DMV and Social Security.

Does Rotary Connection offer any amenities to riders?

Yes. Each day, our team interacts with approximately 150 individuals experiencing homelessness, working to connect them with services that can help improve their circumstances. We also distribute over
600 essential items daily, including socks, hygiene supplies, sandwiches, snacks, and beverages. Onboard, riders have access to a phone charging station.

Is my donation tax-deductible?

Yes. Rotary Connection is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization, and donations are tax-deductible to the extent allowed by law.

Who is the parent organization of Rotary Connection?

Rotary Connection is a division of Fellowship Recovery Community Organization (FRCO), a nonprofit founded in 2005. FRCO operates 200 recovery and respite beds and delivers peer-based recovery support for individuals with substance use disorders, serving over 4,000 people each year.

Can I make a recurring or monthly donation?

Yes. Monthly donations provide consistent support and help Rotary Connection deliver services.

Yes. Rotary Connection welcomes partnerships with businesses, foundations, and community organizations.

I’d like to learn more before making a donation. Is it possible to ride the bus?

Yes! Donors are welcome to ride the bus and see the program in action.

Is Rotary Connection available to support my event?

Yes! Rotary Connection supports a variety of events, primarily nonprofit and community-based initiatives. Services are available on weekdays after 4:00 p.m., as well as Saturdays and Sundays. Depending on the
nature and scope of the event, a fee may apply to help cover operating costs. Please contact us to discuss how Rotary Connection can support your event.

How we help reunite individuals with family or friends — eligibility, timelines, and relocation support.

What is the Relocation Program?

The Relocation Program helps individuals experiencing homelessness in Broward County return to safe, stable housing with family or friends by providing no-cost Greyhound bus tickets.

Who is eligible for the Relocation Program?

Participants must be experiencing homelessness in Broward County and have family or friends willing to provide shelter and support. Rotary Connection verifies housing arrangements prior to relocation.

How quickly can relocation assistance be provided?

In many cases, relocation assistance can be arranged the same day once eligibility and destination support are verified.

Why does Rotary Connection offer relocation assistance?

Reuniting individuals with trusted family or friends is one of the most effective and cost-efficient pathways out of homelessness.

When safe and appropriate, relocation reduces strain on limited community resources while providing immediate stability and support. This approach helps individuals exit homelessness more quickly and transition to long-term stability with dignity and purpose.

A single transportation investment can permanently resolve homelessness for an individual, making this one of the highest-impact and most cost-effective uses of donor funds.
